Thanks to Jodi and Ken Hosale, we had a wonderful picnic back on August 10th. Plans are already underway for our next year's picnic. Not only was it a picnic with over 40 attending, but it was a great social for SEWHS. We started at 11:00 AM with touring the Hosale's 25 plus year hosta garden and a silent auction with some forty-five newer plants and bidding starting at only six dollars. Lunch was at noon and silent auction bidding stopped at one o'clock. We then proceeded with our new "Park a Plant" program where you as a SEWHS member grow the plant for three years. Then you will divide the plant and you keep two eyes and then bring the remaining back for an auction. Some thirty plants went home. Next the officers auctioned off the plants that members brought. Lastly, we had raffle and everyone left with plant material. A number of picnic pictures are being shown above.
